About CRAVIS
CRAVIS is a collaborative platform for climate intelligence.
CRAVIS is built as open infrastructure—modular by design, grounded in verified data, and shaped by the institutions that contribute to it. Partners co-build the data layer, methodologies, and narratives that make climate signals decision-useful.
CRAVIS brings together historical climate observations, future projections, and sectoral datasets into a single, decision-ready platform. It is built on digital public infrastructure (DPI) principles: open by default, modular in architecture, and sourced from trusted institutions such as India Meteorological Department, Indian Space Research Organisation, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, and Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology.
The platform evolves continuously with new datasets, sectoral overlays, and analytical tools, many of which are contributed or co-developed with partners. An agentic AI layer enables users to query complex datasets in natural language and receive source-backed, interpretable insights.
Partnership on CRAVIS
Climate risk is a shared problem. Partnering with CRAVIS is an opportunity to help shape India's climate data commons.
No single institution holds all the data, methods, or contextual knowledge required to address climate risk at the scale and granularity India demands. CRAVIS is built on the premise that the most meaningful climate intelligence emerges through collaboration—across research institutions, line ministries, sectoral agencies, civil society, and domain experts.
There are many ways to collaborate with CRAVIS
- Share data. Contribute datasets and models for climate, risk, vulnerability, or sectoral datasets, with clear and persistent attribution across every view, download, and ‘Ask CRAVIS’ response.
- Stay engaged. Update existing datasets, propose new ones, and co-develop methodologies, indices, and analytical outputs over time.
- Tell the story. Contribute climate stories, case studies, and sectoral use cases to be featured on the platform.
- Shape the platform. Help design new features and tools that respond to real user needs.
- Amplify together. Co-lead outreach through joint workshops, reports, and events.
Partners receive visibility across the platform, early access to new features and releases, and enhanced usage limits on the CRAVIS AI Agent—enabling deeper, faster climate intelligence workflows.
If your institution holds climate, risk, or sectoral datasets or brings expertise in methodologies, indices, or domain analysis we would welcome a conversation.

About CEEW
The Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) — a homegrown institution with headquarters in New Delhi — is among the world's leading climate think tanks. The Council is also often ranked among the world's best-managed and independent think tanks. It uses data, integrated analysis, and strategic outreach to explain — and change — the use, reuse, and misuse of resources. It prides itself on the independence of its high-quality research and strives to impact sustainable development at scale in India and the Global South. In over 14 years of operation, CEEW has impacted over 400 million lives and engaged with over 20 state governments. Follow us on X (formerly Twitter) @CEEWIndia or on LinkedIn for the latest updates.
